In addition, the SunSystems Opera II Toolkit enables accredited developers to fulfil any special requirements, due to the open system that is one of the design principles of Opera II.
Microsoft look and feel
Like all SunSystems products, SunSystems Opera II has been designed with ease of use in mind. Users can elect to use a customizable slider bar, drop down menus or a tree view similar to Microsoft Explorer. The forms in Opera II have been designed with clarity in mind, offering the ability to configure security and system preferences for each user.

Flexible, easy to use, with drilldown facilities, Opera II delivers fast and accurate information. Purpose-built functions allow dynamic access to data from the Opera II financial modules to populate Excel worksheets, and any nominal ledger budgets prepared in Excel can be written back into Opera II, eliminating the need to re-key.
Developers’ toolkit
SunSystems Opera II is fully Windows-compatible, with an easy familiarity in both appearance and navigation. The Developers' Toolkit can make it easier still, allowing customization either to fit more closely with the way a company does business or to fulfill any special requirements. For example, you can:
- Customize forms (screens) - remove fields, add new fields, add new tab frames, add buttons and change the descriptions of fields
- Put conditions (database rules) on fields – e.g. make fields mandatory, prevent fields being edited or enforce certain conditions, such as ensuring that the individual using the form cannot change the selling price, or that a price is not edited below a certain margin
- Add items to Opera II menu structures (new functionality or external applications) — navigator, pull-down menus, modify the toolbar — and take full advantage of the SunSystems Opera II security model
